Howdy, Bald Eagles!
On Thursday, October 23, HAC held a line dancing event, and many students came out to show off their moves. Students began to pile into the MPR as soon as the HAC staff opened the doors, many dressed in theme with their best cowboy and cowgirl fits.
Lion Country Line Dancing, led by Coleen Reese, was the instructor for the night. Many students were already familiar with Coleen from previous line dancing experiences at the Axe Man Brewery in Bellefonte. Some students came in with absolutely no experience, while others had years of practice. Sophomore Ryleigh Davidson stated, “I haven’t broken my neck yet, so I’m considering it a win.” Despite a few collisions, it was a great time for everyone.
One thing all students agreed on was that line dancing needs to happen again. Aaron Sharp said, “Bring back the line dancing! I think a lot of people enjoyed it.” Another student, Pot-Roast, agreed, saying, “I want more of this line dancing stuff, this jawn is actually thorough.”
Once everyone got started, all you could hear was the laughter and the clacking of cowboy boots hitting the MPR floor; it was electric. Everyone had their own reasons for coming out, whether it was to get Spook Haven tickets or, as one student put it, “my friend wanted to do a side quest, so I came.”
We can be sure that we’ll most likely see line dancing again after such a huge success. When we do, I expect to see all you Bald Eagles in your best cowboy and cowgirl getups, ready to get down!
We, as students, must give credit to Kim Harris and the HAC staff for all the fun events they plan on campus. As Kim kindly said, “Seeing students enjoy events it’s a lot of fun.” All the hard work that goes into these events is carried out by the HAC staff, so the next time you’re at bingo or any upcoming event, make sure to show them some appreciation.
That’s all I have for you today, Bald Eagles. See you later, partner!
