One of the best ways to date yourself is to take care of yourself. Go ahead and try one of these few tips out to supplement the standard dating practices:

Buy yourself a drink: Did you know 75 percent of Americans are chronically dehydrated to according to dripdrop.com? This could be affecting your daily health. According to WebMD dehydration symptoms include but are not limited to: fatigue, dizziness, and confusion. Do yourself a favor and do a shot (or a few) of water and see if they help any tired or unwell feelings.

Treat yourself: Instead of waiting around for the right guy or gal to buy you flowers and chocolates go ahead and get them yourself. It may feel a little superficial, but everyone deserves a little bit of indulgence. Plus you have the added bonus of already knowing what you want, instead of having your partner take an educated guess.

Go on a date with yourself: Couples often take time to share interests and try new things; why not take time to try to expand the understanding of yourself? Try an art class, watch a new tv series, go somewhere new, or any new activity for the matter. Maybe you’ll pick up a new hobby.

Compliment yourself: It’s like flirting, but with yourself. Leave yourself a little love note on post-it or take a great picture/selfie and post it with a positive caption. It doesn’t have to be physical either; you can celebrate little victories like handling a stressful situation with grace or commending yourself on achieving a good grade on an exam.

People may come and go into your life, but you’ll always have to deal with yourself. So, it might be a good idea to take some time and learn how to love yourself.
