Fall is all about the most exciting time of the year! It’s about winding down the year and getting to celebrate the most exciting holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas comes along to give us happiness before we have to say goodbye/hello to the coming and coming of the years. But, before we do that, we have to prepare ourselves for the kind of changes this time of year brings including the brutal weather. Now, we all know the weather changes every day. It can be sunny one minute and then raining the next. But, fall weather is trying to tell the public that a cold reckoning is coming, and you better be ready.

Fall is the season that warns you about winter but, can be quite deceiving. At first, it brings in the beautiful parts of the seasons changing like leaves changing colors and the air is brisk and smells like the purest of nature’s air you’re ever going to experience throughout the year. Then, the holidays are there to really glamorize the evolution going on in the environment and bring people together to celebrate the calm before the storm. But, right after those holidays, or in most cases during, snow will begin to fall, and you want to have all your essentials before then. Even during the fall season, the air and wind can be brutal. This is why most people refer to this time of year as “sweater weather” because this is when you should start suiting up and bringing in your long sleeves and start wearing pants. It can’t be summer all year long, so this is when see the transition of shorts becoming pants or sweatpants and trading flip-flops for boots.

Not only does your fashion change, but your body starts to change as well. Seasonal allergies ARE real! It doesn’t just happen in the spring time when the pollen starts coming in. Matter of fact, pollen is everywhere! WebMD even points out a plant named Ragwood that is the highest culprit is expanding the most pollen during the fall months starting in August. It can even stir up reactions through certain fruits and vegetables like bananas, melons, and zucchinis. So if you’re allergies are easy to pick up on, avoid these foods unless you want to start a sneezing war with yourself.

Mold can also be a factor in activating those pesky allergies. With mold growing any damp surface. WebMD also mentions to avoid the damp piles of leaves laying anywhere because they are “ideal breeding grounds” for the fungi.

Also with the cold air coming into play, we also have to worry about our immune systems not working properly and eventually catching a cold, if not properly bundled up or taking care of oneself. We are more likely to become ill in the cold rather than the heat and its something we should all be mindful of when picking out an outfit of the day.

So, as autumn is upon us, though it may not look like it, be cautious of the cold and get ready to celebrate the better part of the year.
