It is crazy to think that this week is the last week of February! With the end of February, let’s talk about what’s coming up in March/.
March Madness is a post-season college basketball tournament. The tournament is scheduled to start on March 18 with the first four teams, then it will continue on from there. The tournament ends in the beginning of April.
There are 67 different basketball games scheduled. The tournament is going to be “bubble’’ style with the location being in Indianapolis. Fans are able to attend in a limited capacity during the tournament.
Fans are required to wear masks and seating will be socially distanced. Ticket information is going to be available after March 1. Just like bowl selection with college football, there is a selection show for basketball, that day is scheduled for March 14 at 6 p.m.
Currently, teams are finishing their regular season games then going into conference tournaments. Conference tournament champions do get the chance to be seeded into the NCAA tournament or be invited to the NIT tournament.
My two best recommendations to prepare for March Madness
- Research the teams that could be potentially included in the tournament, we do know that things are constantly changing.
- Print out the bracket, there is a lot of basketball to watch over the weeks ahead. Better to prepare well in advance of the first game.
Keep an eye out as the tournament gears up, I will be watching right along with all fans to see who is the winner by the end.
