October is here—which means it’s time to get spooky! According to Scare Factor, Pennsylvania has at least 101 different haunted attractions. These vary from simple home haunts in someone’s backyard or garage to nationally-recognized professional haunted homes. Listed below are several haunts local to Lock Haven, as well as some that are notable within PA.

Spook Haven Haunted House Spook Haven is the haunted house closest to campus and boasts three thrilling attractions: Sick Sense, Whisper Creek Manor, and B.E.N. High School. This season is the last year that Whisper Creek Manor will be open. Prices range from $13 to $25, but students can pick up free tickets at the Parsons Union Building and the residence halls. Spook Haven is open from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Friday and Saturday this month, with special high intensity and lights out events happening on Oct. 15 and Oct. 23. Spook Haven is located at 100 Danis Street, Mill Hall, PA 17751.

Elysburg Haunted House The Elysburg Haunted House has opened for their forty-sixth operating season! They are open on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the month, with tickets priced at only $15 with free parking. Their attractions include a walkthrough of a haunted forest and a two-story building. This haunted house benefits Elysburg Fire Department and Ralpho Fire Company, and is located at 106 Gun Club Road, Elysburg, PA 17824.

Imaginarium Sanitarium This is the first operating season for Imaginarium Sanitarium, located at the former SCI Cresson Facility. According to their website, you are able to “Fight for your life through Maple House, the Valley of the Dolls, and other skin crawling locations as you maneuver through the worlds the Darkness has built for your horror.” Tickets are $25, and they are open from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m on Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. They are also going to be open on Halloween night from 7 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. Imaginarium Sanitarium is located at 251 Correction Rd, Cresson, PA 16630.

Pennhurst Asylum Pennhurst Asylum boasts three immersive attractions: Pennhurst Asylum, The Morgue, and Tunnels, and they recently completed a rather large re-imagining that involved updating their sets, lighting, and animatronics. According to Alexx Argen, owner of Overlook Creative, “We’re really excited to bring a new life to Pennhurst Asylum via the use of state-of-the-art technology and brand new sets.” Pennhurst Asylum is open through the month of October and hosts two special events during the first weekend of October. General admission tickets are $50, and VIP tickets are $85. They also offer a $145 ticket package that includes the haunted attractions and a paranormal investigation on property. Their operating hours are from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. Pennhurst Asylum is located at 250 Commonwealth Drive, Spring City, PA 19475.
