The Criminal Justice club was started back up in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic and are currently looking to recruit new members. Students do not have to be a criminal justice major to join. The current leadership team consists of President Audra Newmeyer, Vice President Tiffany Brungart, Secretary Macenzie Walsh, and Treasurer Brooke Shields.

Those who are criminal justice majors can take advantage of traveling to the Mansfield campus and tour their Act 120 course as a club member. Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Christopher Clinton and other special guests have come to some club meetings in the past. They previously have traveled as a club to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York City.

The Criminal Justice club not only does law enforcement-related activities but also conducts community-based activities such as donation drives for Merit House.

“I think one thing about the Criminal Justice club that I love is that it is not just focused on academics, community service, or having fun,” Newmeyer said. “It is about all of that combined, plus the opportunity to make friends, build professional relationships with the criminal justice faculty, and build professional relationships and connections with our guest speakers and people who are active in the field of criminal justice.”

Students who are interested in joining the Criminal Justice club or learning more information about the criminal justice department may contact Professor Edward Bowman at ebowman@commonwealthu.edu or Audra Newmeyer at ajn577@lockhaven.edu
