Lock Haven is home to many local eateries and I, Dan Stoner, am on a mission to showcase and review them all, one plate at a time. Today, we’re going to be showcasing a select meal from Fox’s Market House Restaurant. Today’s meal consists of their Steak and Eggs Breakfast.

Steak – 8.6/10: For a diner breakfast steak it genuinely impressed me. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it still had a great flavor. The seasoning was well done, and the flavor mixed well with the rest of the items on the plate. It wasn’t dry, and it was cooked perfectly to my preference. (medium to medium-rare). It also was very appealing, looks and smells wise. The portion is 5 oz. and the price overall is typically reasonable for everything you get along with it.

Eggs – 7/10: There’s nothing to complain about with an over-easy egg. It isn’t anything special, but it compliments everything else on the plate well. My favorite way to combine the eggs was with the hash browns by putting the yolk juice on top of them, which gives the hash browns more juiciness and the yolk more flavor.

Toast – 8.1/10: Specifically, I asked for rye, and I am very glad I did. Along with the melted butter on top, the earthy flavor mixes well with the hash browns and steak while also providing a solid vehicle for the eggs. I genuinely loved the flavor if it by itself, the center was buttery and savory. The outside was crunchy and slightly malty.

Hash Browns – 8.5/10: I loved the hash browns in all honesty. They were a great mix of soft yet crunchy and savory. Like I said earlier, I really liked the added nutty flavor of the yolk to the hash browns, and with a few shakes of pepper, it has everything it needs to be a very well rounded flavorful bite.

Final Rating – 8/10

Fox’s Market House Restaurant’s Steak and Eggs Breakfast (Eagle Eye/Dan Stoner)

Depending on the day and the amount of people, you can expect there to be some wait time for your meal, however I would say in many cases it is worth it. The customer service was great and very patient. In conclusion, I am thoroughly satisfied with my visit, and I will 100% come back to try the rest of the menu.

As always, support local business!
