Lock Haven is home to many local eateries and I, Dan Stoner, am on a mission to showcase and review them all, one plate at a time. Today, we’re going to be showcasing a select meal from Main Street Grill. Today’s meal consists of their Cuban Sandwich with Garlic Parmesan Fries.

Street Cuban Sandwich – 8.7/10: This sandwich was much simpler in its description, but complex in actual taste and construction. The contents of this sandwich were, as cited in the menu, as follows: “Caribbean pork, sliced baked ham, Swiss cheese, mustard, horseradish mayo & sweet pickles in a pressed roll.”

I was iffy about the meat selection, seeing as it was two pork selections, however the flavor profiles were completely different and complementary to the rest of the contents. The Caribbean pork was shredded and had a hint of sweetness, while the sliced baked ham was moist and savory. The additions such as the condiments and the Swiss cheese really balanced out the rest of the sandwich, bringing the sour and tangy that the meats were missing.

Garlic Parmesan Fries – 9.5/10: I would put these fries at a 10 if I felt more comfortable in saying/knowing that they are healthy. The flavor of the garlic and parmesan seasoning on these fries was tasty, not to mention the fact that they were skinny fresh-cut fries. Sometimes, there is a tad-bit too much oil, but it’s not a huge deal. It was a great compliment to the sandwich as a palette cleanser.

The service was incredible; I have been there a few times and this has remained consistent. Not to mention that the vibe of Main Street Grill is very low key and is great for date nights. They had nice decor in the brick walling and post-modern rustic furniture and seating arrangements.

Final Rating – 9.1/10
