On Wed. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Dunkin’ Cruiser parked itself outside the East Campus Science building to offer students free samples, gift cards and other prizes. Organized by the Haven Activities Council (HAC), the event provided much-needed motivation for students to finish out week six of the spring semester.

As students enjoyed their free samples of Dunkin’s original iced coffee, cinnamon vanilla coffee and new SPARKD’ Energy, they also had the chance to win gift cards, stickers and keychains by playing a Plinko-inspired game.
Even in the wet and gloomy weather, the event pursued. With the help of a trusty Dunkin’ canopy tent, rain gear and the welcoming personas of the event staff, students gathered to enjoy the HAC sponsored outing.
“It is a nice way to brighten up my day,” said Ronnie Ticknor, a student worker for HAC. “When I walked by I was like, ‘oh my goodness, free coffee, yes!’ It made me excited to go to class.”
“This is the third time we’ve had the Dunkin’ truck on campus, and the students have always really responded well, they really like it,” said Kim Harris, Director of Student Involvement and advisor of HAC. “The free samples are fun and who doesn’t like to win free stuff? We just thought why not have it back again?”
Students can expect the Dunkin’ Cruiser to be back on campus at some point during the remainder of the spring semester. The location is currently undecided, but will most likely be on Ivy Lane or in Lower Bentley.
