Midterm elections were held on Nov. 11, and the results are in. Out of 1,184 Lock Haven University students registered to vote on Election Day, only 508 decided to vote in this election.

Lock Haven University has a multitude of students that live in dorms on campus or apartments in Campus Village and Evergreen Commons. There were four total offices that students could vote for including, Senate, governor, lieutenant governor, representative of the 15th district, and representative in the general assembly of the 76th district.

Ward 3 of Lock Haven voted entirely democratic according to the Clinton County website. All of the results were close, oftentimes resulting in a fraction of a percent deciding the winner.

Lock Haven’s local results are almost entirely indicative of Pennsylvania-wide reports, where most of those who had the majority here ended up winning the office.

United States Senator-elect, John Fetterman (D)

Democratic nominee, John Fetterman, won the PA Senate race. Fetterman plans to “hold Washington accountable.” He ran on the promise to keep making products in America, cut taxes on the working class, help get public schools more funding and even more, according to his website.

Governor-elect of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro (D)

Josh Shapiro, Democratic nominee, won the governor race. Shapiro ran on the slogan: “No matter what you look like, where you come from, who you love, or who you pray to, you are valued here…” according to his website

U.S. representative for Pennsylvania’s 15th congressional district, Glenn Thompson (R)

Republican nominee, Glenn Thompson, won the 15th representative district of PA. Thompson stated that he wants to continue to properly supply troops as well as give more people access to ‘good’ and affordable healthcare. Thompson’s website is still up and running for any additional information.

Pennsylvania House of Representatives District 76, Stephanie Borowicz (R)

The Representative in the General Assembly of the 76th district is Republican Stephanie Borowicz. She is a strong proponent of second amendment rights, “protecting the sanctity of all human life,” and additional funding of public schools. Additional information can be found on her website.
