Crave by Tracy Wolf is a fantasy, romance novel reminiscent of Twilight, but with a stronger and more unique main character. This is a perfect book for anyone looking for one to curl up with as the cold weather approaches.

Grace Foster is a typical teen girl whose world is rocked when her parents die. She is forced to move from sunny San Diego, California to icey-cold Denali, Alaska, with her only living family members, her uncle and her cousin.

With Grace’s uncle, Finn Foster, as her new guardian, she must attend his private boarding school for her senior year. It is at this school that Grace’s world is turned upside down as a whirlwind of events that help her learn more about herself and the world that her parents came from.

A world of mythical creatures and centuries of bad blood awaits Grace as she travels to this new school.  This school is severely divided more so than any normal highschool. These students, although appearing human, are vastly different species. There is a mix of vampires, witches and various shifters who are forced to co-exist.

Grace is the only student in the whole school that is human and now has to adjust to her new life and her new reality. Any smooth adjustment is further hindered by the fact that multiple factions of the school are trying to kill her, while others are working tirelessly to protect her.

‘The Order’ and their leader, Jaxon, is one such group that tried to protect her. Jaxon is a telekinetic vampire prince and is the reason for the split between the vampires. Grace falls in love with Jaxon Vega, unknowingly furthering the divide between ‘The Order’ and other factions.

Grace’s life is put in danger many times and she narrowly escapes, but perhaps there is more to Grace than meets the eye. At the end of the novel Grace becomes something more than anyone, monster or human, thought possible.
