70 For The Fins: The Miami Dolphins made history on Sunday by demolishing the Denver Broncos by a score of 70-20. This is the first time the NFL has seen 70 points on the board since 1966. The Dolphins have been nothing short of remarkable so far this season and this performance suggests that the Dolphins are in for a very successful season. Dolphins star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has yet again thrown for over 300 yards with 157 of his 309-yards going to star receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill also scored the first touchdown of the game from 54-yards out. But the best performances of the day game from running backs Raheem Mostert, and De’Van Achane, who each got in the endzone four times on Sunday. Mostert had 82-yards and three touchdowns on the ground with 60-yards and a touchdown through the air. Achane had a much more sizeable 203-yards with two touchdowns on the ground with 30-yards and two touchdowns through the air. Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson had a decent day throwing the ball for 309-yards with a touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton and an interception, but that was certainly not enough. The Broncos’ struggles continued in dramatic fashion as they fall to 0-3 on the year. The Dolphins continue to move in the opposite direction beginning the year 3-0. Next week, the Broncos go back to Denver to take on the winless Chicago Bears, while the Dolphins hit the road to play their division rival Buffalo Bills.
Green Bay Loves Comebacks: The Green Bay Packers squeaked out a win this weekend versus the New Orleans Saints by a score of 18-17. What makes this win more impressive is the fact that the Saints were winning this game 17-0 going into the fourth quarter. Saints’ receiver Chris Olave had a solid game with 104 receiving yards. The Saints even got going on special teams with a punt return touchdown from Rashid Shaheed. The Packers needed to get going if they wanted to win this game and that’s exactly what Packers quarterback Jordan Love had in mind. Love had 259 passing yards on the day with a passing touchdown to Romeo Doubs as well as a rushing touchdown himself. Love put his team on his back at the right moments and was able to get the Packers to win. The Packers defense also showed out, specifically edge rusher Rashan Gary who had three sacks against the Saints on Sunday. The Packers will move to 2-1 on the season while the Saints will also move on to 2-1. The Packers will not be able to enjoy their victory for long as they have a short week and will host the Detroit Lions this upcoming Thursday night. The Saints will head back to New Orleans to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Seattle Came to Battle: The Seattle Seahawks won their matchup this weekend 37-27, over the visiting Carolina Panthers. Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith led the way through the air with 296 passing yards on the day. DK Metcalf took in most of those yards with gaining 112 receiving yards from Smith. The highlight of Seattle’s offense came on the ground from running back Kenneth Walker III. Walker had 97 rushing yards as well as getting in the endzone for two touchdowns. Seattle certainly had their work cut out for them and thought this would be an easier game with the Panthers starting quarterback Bryce Young being out. That was until Andy Dalton showed up and showed out. Dalton threw for 361 passing yards and two touchdowns to wide receivers Adam Thielen and DJ Chark Jr. Theilen had himself a day racking up 145 receiving yards on the day. But ultimately, it was not enough for the Panthers to get their first win of the season. The Panthers will head back to Carolina to get ready to host the winless Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Seahawks will travel across the country to take on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
