LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – In an intense showdown against Slippery Rock (0-2-1), Lock Haven men’s soccer (2-1-1) gained a win.

Even with multiple shots to goal on both sides, the first half was a 0-0 stalemate. At the beginning of the second half, Lock Haven’s own Alex Neal scored a goal. Neal had a penalty kick that had everyone in anticipation. The goal left Lock Haven ahead for the rest of the game. The final score was 1-0.  

The game consisted of more than 10 fouls on both teams and multiple yellow cards for Lock Haven. Slippery Rock had two yellow cards, and one red card.

Player Highlights:

Neal’s goal left the spectators with a joyous hope of winning, and without his goal, the score would’ve been a tie. Jimmy Pombor showcased his footwork throughout the game, but his moves really stood out in the first half.

The Big 50:

This game marked coach Patrick Long’s 50th win as the Lock Haven men’s soccer head coach.

Lock Haven will travel to Millersville on Saturday, Sept. 16 for a 4 p.m. contest.
