An abundance of homework, projects to create, and tests to study for, all within a short span of time, can be daunting and overwhelming, causing many students to procrastinate on their workload and make life that much more intense and stressful. However, with the right playlist to listen to, it may be less stressful to start and have an easier time tackling work. This playlist is curated to motivate, create a calm mindset, sustain a workflow, and take students to the finals week finish line.
“Eye of the Tiger” – Survivor
Need motivation to get started on your workload? “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor is an excellent song to listen to. This song was featured in “Rocky III” and was played during Rocky’s training montage; since then, there has been a strong motivational connotation connected to this song. Many people have used this song in the background of speeches, workouts, etc. This song uplifts people and pushes them to get up and do what they must do. This song will nix procrastination and get anyone pumped up to tackle homework.
“Passionfruit” – Drake
The first hurdle is to start tasks or whatever work that needs to be completed. “Passion Fruit” is a great song to pop on and ease the brain and body to study for longer periods of time. The beat is calming and not loud, which making it great for studying or working on homework. It seemingly has an uplifting effect that puts listeners in a positive mood to get work done.
“Super Mario Bros. & Mario Kart” Theme Music
This “song” choice is an odd one, but it really works. The idea of listening to “Super Mario Bros. & Mario Kart” theme music was found on the app TikTok. I was desperate to try anything that would help me focus on my work, so I went on YouTube and found a “Mario Kart” theme songs compilation. I listened to it as I worked and was shocked by how much it helped me lock in! On Eagle Eye’s Spotify playlist there is a plethora of theme songs from “Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart.” There are no words on any of these songs, which makes it super easy to even read while listening. Many of these theme songs have a playful beat and are nostalgic from many of our childhoods; listening to these songs is comforting and helps you tune out what’s going on around you.
“The Final Countdown” – Europe
This song is the perfect song to wrap up whatever you’re working on because it has an angsty beat to it from the rock elements incorporated in the song. Like “Eye of the Tiger” this song is a pure motivator. Where this song and “Eye of the Tiger” differ is that “The Final Countdown” motivates listeners to finish because they’re so close, whereas as the “Eye of the Tiger” motivated them to start on whatever they need to do. There’s a good mix between lyrical and instrumental sections which makes this song more versatile to play when you must read or require more concentration.
This playlist is compiled of songs that not many would put together. However, I’ve relied on these songs many times to get me through painstaking study or homework sessions. This playlist is a must listen to.

When she’s not writing, Breanna can be found chilling with her dogs, taking on some sort of crafting project, or working as a server. Breanna hopes to continue to learn about the media and journalism world and find ways to incorporate her own flare into her assignments and projects.
