The Haven Cupboard, Commonwealth University – Lock Haven’s food pantry, opened a new spot for students to occupy in the East Campus Science Center. The Haven Hangout can be found within the same location of the Cupboard which is located at 340 W. Main Street.

Kaitlyn McBride, a computer science major and a student worker of the cupboard, expressed her thoughts about the opening.

“I think that this spot will be great for all students but especially those who spend most of their time in East Campus,” said Kaitlyn McBride, a computer science major and student worker at the Cupboard. “With NanoBites being gone, those students don’t have quick and easy options for food.”

The Haven Hangout is a spot open to all students to study, hangout with friends, and a place to destress from the semester. Microwaves are available for people to warm up food or to brew their own coffee, hot chocolate or tea.

“[The Haven Hangout] provides a fun place for students to spend time with friends in the evening to study or even play board games and chat,” McBride said.

Students can utilize this area during their hours of operation:

Monday to Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Haven Hangout will not be open during spring break.
