Music can be used to enhance one’s current mood. For those who are feeling energetic or in need of energy should consider listening to songs that are upbeat, and fast paced. When people listen to music that has the same energy, it may be beneficial when trying to get in the zone of an activity or set goals like in the gym. The purpose of creating this playlist was to provide songs for listeners in need of power or feeling energetic. There are a total of five songs on the playlist that are full of energy with intense beats and lively tempos. 

“Pump It” by Black Eyed Peas

Those who listen to the song find themselves pumped up and ready for all that life brings. The song breaks into several segments for each member of the group incorporating different techno sounds. This musical track is the first featured in the “Monkey Business” album released 2005. Other hype songs not mentioned from this band include “I Gotta Feeling” and “Imma Be.”

“Untrust Us” by Crystal Castles

Released in 2008, majority of Crystal Castles’ fans find it difficult to comprehend the lyrics even with the repetition of the melody. The lyrics are spoken in Spanish “La cocaína no es buena para su salud” and translates to “The cocaine is not good for you” in English. In terms of sound quality of the background music feels distorted leaving listeners in a trance.

“Futsal Shuffle 2020” by Lil Uzi Vert

This single was released in 2019. Vert’s monotone voice blends smoothly with the rapid beat that loops throughout the whole song. Therefore, the song feels everlasting. With the use of techno sounding background music enhances the listener’s urge to dance or headbang. Another striking song from this artist is “Money Longer.”

“Heads will Roll” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

A commonly used song to prepare people interested in rave events. Since the track features intense beats and rhythms, individuals may feel controlled by the music playing. The repetition of lyrics “Off with your Head” will leave listeners feeling like the Queen of Hearts from Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. 

“Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO, Lauren Benn, GoonRock

As stated in the title, this song has been a classic party anthem since 2011 because of the ability to make people dance and vibe out. It would be disappointing if by the end of the song no one has shuffled on the dance floor. Other songs from LMFAO that can make listeners hyped are “Champagne Showers” and “Sexy and I Know It.”

Music has the capability of evoking certain emotions in listeners. Individuals feeling lively and full of energy should listen to songs with a predominant beat and face paced tempos.  The five songs listed on the ‘Amped Up’ playlist will have listeners pumped up and feeling energetic.
